California Bar Adopts First-of-Its-Kind Guidance on AI for Attorneys

California state bar trustees on Thursday approved novel ethics guidance for attorneys incorporating generative artificial intelligence into their legal practices.

The five pages of guidelines, written by the bar’s Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct, offer recommendations for attorneys trying to stay in compliance with the Rules of Professional Conduct while using the fast-developing technology.
