Justice Department’s Antitrust Division Needs More Personnel, Chief Tells Lawmakers

The Justice Department’s antitrust chief told lawmakers Tuesday that his division is operating with far fewer resources than his predecessors had.

“It is essential that we have the resources necessary to keep pace with the issues that affect so many Americans,” Kanter said during a House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust oversight hearing. “Without sufficient resources, we can’t adequately protect the American public from the harms that flow from anti-competitive conduct and unlawful concentration.”
