Poland Emerges as Potential Next Growth Market for Multinational Law Firms

In just the past six months, Clyde & Co established a presence in Warsaw by hiring a team from Dentons, and two Austria-based regional firms, Wolf Theiss and Schoenherr, added large teams from Polish national firms.

As the largest economy in Central and Eastern Europe, Poland has long been a logical destination for Big Law. The market is full of established offices of U.S.- and U.K.-based firms like Clifford Chance, White & Case, Baker McKenzie and Allen & Overy. The French firm Gide Loyrette Nouel has a good-sized office in Warsaw, and the German firm Noerr expanded its Warsaw cohort last year with two partner hires from Polish firms.
